The cottage dates from the early 19th century and is a Grade II listed building being formerly used as the toll house for Carisbrooke Castle.
Carisbrooke is located in the centre of the island and makes an ideal base for exploring the Island during your holiday. The cottage is within walking distance of the beautiful St George's
Downs and the 8 mile Island cycle track from Newport to Sandown.
Toll Cottage has been sympathetically restored to retain historical features without compromising on comfort.
The building is of unusual and distinct structure with hexagonal front elevations. The living room and double bedroom are particulary light rooms with double aspects.
The front windows are prettily framed in small hexagonals which complement the overall structure. The back windows are original casement windows with stained glass panels.
The fireplaces are original and there are gas-lights in all the downstairs rooms although sadly they are no longer working. In the living room there is an attractive mantlepiece made from local
marble which contains many fossils such as ammonites.
All rooms are centrally heated. linen and towels provided.
High chair and Cot available on request.The accommodation consists of :
